Some testing equipment or detection instruments have a rather unusual appearance or design due to their structure and purpose. Regular storage packaging can’t protect them very well and might let them wobble up and down or roll side to side, simply because the inner lining doesn’t fit the device snugly. For everyday storage or short-distance moves, this isn’t a big deal. But for many precision devices that often accompany people on long trips, this can be critical—severe vibrations can damage the equipment itself or reduce its accuracy. Either way, it’s harmful to the device. So for this type of product, having a good packaging liner is really necessary.
For oddly-shaped products, you need packaging inserts that fit better, and only molding or engraving processes can meet this requirement. But with molds, you have to consider the cost, and if it’s not a large quantity of products, the mold cost can’t be spread out. This is where engraving really shows its special advantages – no mold required, low minimum order quantity, and odd shapes can be processed. Using EVA foam as the material, and then processing it with a digital CNC engraving machine, the inserts come out perfectly fitting all kinds of product shapes.
