Transporting large, irregularly-shaped equipment is a really tricky issue, and protecting the equipment during the transport is also super important. For a lot of heavier precision equipment, protection isn’t just about wrapping it in a layer of cotton or foam. Better protection comes from using cushioning that fits the product’s shape and safeguards every key part. Custom foam inserts tailored to the product’s shape can do the trick really well. If you want the insert to fit the product perfectly, there aren’t many options. One is to use molds to create foam inserts that match the product, but that can be super expensive unless you’re making products in bulk. Another is to use liquid foam to wrap the product, which works for lighter items but not for heavier ones. Then there’s using EVA foam carved trays, which can be shaped precisely to fit the product, no molds needed, costs are moderate, and you can choose different EVA hardnesses depending on the weight of the product. This is a really practical solution for transporting and protecting large equipment.
